Hello,
I'm new to App Service Environment/Function app on Azure. We have been told that our App Service Environment might needs to be updated to v3 because old versions will retire on August 31st, 2024.
- Is Function app related to App Service Environment? For what I can see we have 1 app under Function app but nothing under App Service Environment. Could it be because I don't have enough permission? If so, what permission do I need to see and migrate the tool?
- How can I see which version of App Service Environment I'm currently using?
I'm trying to follow this but I'm having issue finding the information.

For All ASE v1, v2 and v3 the "region" of the App Service Plan would be the "App Service Environment" name (in the portal overview when you click on the plan it should be a link to the ASE resource you can follow)
ASEv2 and ASEv3 further differentiate because the plans must all be of "isolated" type.
ASEv1 allowed premium plans.
So in summary - if your function is running on an ASE then the function is part of a function App , the function App belongs to a hosting plan and the region of the hosting plan will be the ASE

If you're on ASEv2 or v2 then you need to migrate to ASEv3 because v1/v2 are being retired and to do that you can follow the recommended (in place migration) instructions here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/environment/migrate?pivots=experience-azpIs that what you are wanting to do?
