Disable chat in Teams for a Resource Account

I have an auto-attendant created in Teams admin centre. The associated resource account is visible in Teams when you search or link to it.

I would like to disable chat for this account, but still have it visible so that users can make calls to it. Is this possible?

Teams provides information barriers to hide resource accounts from Teams users, please refer to reference for details.

It may take 30 minutes or more for the policy to be applied. Once the status shows completed, go into Teams Client and try to search for the Resource Accounts that were blocked. It may be necessary to clear the Teams cache.

I don't want to hide the account. I want it to be visible, but just not allow Chat.

The resource account is associated to an auto-attendant which has a divert to a PSTN phone number for our IT Helpdesk. The Resource Account needs to be visible so that users have the option to place a call and be directed to our helpdesk.

For Microsoft Teams, information barriers can determine and prevent the following kinds of unauthorized collaborations:

Adding a user to a team or channel

User access to team or channel content

User access to 1:1 and group chats

User access to meetings

Prevents lookups and discovery, users won't be visible in the people picker.

For 1:1 chat: If communication between two users is no longer allowed (because of application to one or both users of a policy that blocks communication), further communication is blocked. Their existing chat conversations become read-only.
