There is a white transparent box that has appeared on my screen. It won't go away no matter what I do. I've tried to restart/hard shut down/restart windows explorer in task manager and nothing works. I would appreciate any assistance in this regard.

    Update graphics drivers:

    Open Device Manager

    Expand "Display adapters"

Right-click on your graphics card and select "Update driver"

Uninstall any recently added software that might be causing this issue.

Boot in Safe Mode: If the box doesn't appear in Safe Mode, it's likely caused by a third-party application.

You may try a System Restore (if created earlier).

Open Command Prompt as Admin and type the following commands followed by hitting the Enter key in each case:

    sfc /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

You may also create a New Use Account to check the issue.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

If restarting Windows Explorer doesn't resolve the issue, try the following three methods in order to fix the problem.

Method 1: You can use the Win + Ctrl + Shift + B keys to restart the graphics driver. Once you press these keys together, the screen flickers and goes black for a second, then returns in less than a second.

Method 2:You can reinstall Display adapters to fix transparent or translucent box on screen in Windows 11. Here is the guide:

Step 1: Right click on the Windows icon in the taskbar and select the Device Manager option to open Device Manager on Windows 11.

Step 2: In the Device Manager window, expand Display adapters and right click on the graphics card.

Step 3: Select the Uninstall device option, and then select the Attempt to remove the driver for this device box.

Step 4: Click the Uninstall button and then restart your computer.

After restarting your computer, the driver will be automatically installed. Then you can check if the transparent or translucent box on screen disappears.

    Method 3**:**Disable Task View

You can reinstall Display adapters to fix transparent or translucent box on screen in Windows 11. The detailed steps are as follows:

Step 1: Press the Win + I key to open the windows Settings.

Step 2: Select the Personalize option from the left panel, and then switch to the right and expand the Taskbar.

Step 3: In the next window, toggle the Task view off.

For detailed steps please refer to the link: How to Fix Transparent or Translucent Box on Screen in Windows 11 - MiniTool Partition Wizard

I hope the information above is helpful.

    Best Regards,

    Yanhong Liu

hmm that sounds like you may have screen burn from looking at a white box for to long which has burned into your screen and could cause a transprent box on your screen.
