As I understand you want to know if Azure AD Connect Version 2.3.6.0 is the same as Microsoft Entra Connect Sync? and also want to know when is AD connect Version 2.3.6.0 scheduled to reach end-of-life?
AD connect is now called as Entra connect. Both these are same, just the name is changed.
Entra connect Version 2.3.6.0 was released on 21 Feb 2024 and below are the bug fixes that it contained.
BUG Fix:
- Improvements to auto-upgrade detection. Auto-upgrade will no longer retry if it detects the machine does not meet the OS or .NET runtime requirements.
This Entra connect version 2.3.6.0 will be reaching end of life 12 months after release of 2.3.8.0.
Entra connect 2.3.8.0 was released on 1 Apr 2024.
This means Entra connect Version 2.3.6.0 will be reaching end of support on 1 Apr 2025.
Yes, you may continue to use Entra Connect Version 2.3.6.0 without any problems. Reaching the end of support does not imply that the product will cease functioning; rather, it indicates that Microsoft will no longer provide support for this product.
