Initial setup and onboarding steps for new advertisers using Microsoft Advertising
Hello Ho Man,
Thank you for using our Microsoft Advertising Community Forum!
It's great to see that you are aiming to advertise via Microsoft Advertising, but it's important to keep in mind that Microsoft Advertising is a paid platform. Microsoft Advertising is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising service, which means we charge you each time your ad is clicked. Remember that PPC requires regular and frequent attention. Make sure to monitor your campaign’s performance and make adjustments as necessary to get the performance you want.
You can learn about payment methods and billing options here:
What are my billing options? Pay now or pay later
Choosing a payment method for Microsoft Advertising
The actual pay-per-click (PPC) amount is, at the most, the bid amount you set and never more than that and you can pay now (prepay) or later (postpay) for those charges. When you prepay for your clicks, charges are deducted from funds you add to your account. Once you run out of funds, your account is put on hold until more money is added. When you pay later, charges accumulate as your ads are clicked. You then pay either on your monthly billing date or when you reach your billing threshold (a spending limit before we automatically bill you), whichever comes first. What's next? How about learning how to create a Microsoft Advertising account?
Once you create your campaigns and get your ads live and active, you shouldn't stop there. You need to constantly monitor performance and attempt to refine/optimise your campaigns. PPC advertising is not a "set and forget" activity. Your campaign needs constant care and feeding. It's very important that you regularly monitor your campaign and make adjustments as necessary to improve its performance. A couple of things you can do right away is research more keywords, enter some good negative keywords, target your ad groups, and improve your ads with dynamic text. And don't forget to regularly use the many powerful reports that Microsoft Advertising offers.
