Android 12 update bug

After updating to A12 my Samsung A12 (ironically) screen will turn off (go black) it is not powering off and I've checked the screen time out settings to confirm that they have not changed and those settings do not appear to be an issue.

I've power cycled the device a few times and it seems to only make it worse (time out/go black faster)

The only thing that seems to remedy the issue is to close all background apps and have the device on the charger.

Does anyone know or have any ideas to better resolve this issue?
