Hardware acceleration

I have something odd happening, with hardware acceleration disabled in Settings, while scrolling my GPU runs at full speed. With hardware enabled, the gpu usage is very low. This seems opposite to what you would expect. Updated drivers, using an Nvidia GTX 1080ti graphics card, Windows 11

With other apps, does the same ''inverse'' behavior happen?

Do you check GPU usage through Task Manager? What are the percentages? can you send a screenshot?

As I explained earlier, hardware acceleration optimizes other system applications and focuses on what you're using, so when it's turned off, it has more use because it's not optimized, it's not focusing exclusively on the app or game you're using at the moment, having to ''focus'' to several things at the same time, increasing usage, so when I turn on hardware acceleration, usage is lower because the GPU doesn't need to ''force'' as the focus is being exclusively on that app in use.

You still don't seem to get my question: With hardware acceleration off, there is high gpu usage when using Edge, and the opposite with hardware acceleration switched off. I want to know why this is happening. It is opposite of what you would expect. if hardware acceleration is switched off the gpu usage should not be high at all when using the browser. Resetting settings makes no difference. I tested this before posting.

I assumed you were referring to a heavy app or game, but you are referring to using Edge.

    -Solve Edge Problems:

Click on the three points of Edge> Settings> Reset settings> after restoring, just below click About Microsoft Edge to keep everything up to date. Test and see if it resolved.

Some problems can also be caused by extensions, click the three dots>extensions>and remove all extensions. Do the test.

If it doesn't, clear the cache using Ctrl+H > click on the three little dots > clear navigation data > time interval, From start > select all options > Clear now.

Take the test and see if it resolved.

    If necessary, access:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge

Scroll down and click Download for Windows, proceed to reinstall Edge.

This is of no help to me as you have not answered my question. I am why with hardware acceleration disabled is my GPU running at full speed, and with hardware acceleration enabled it's not doing the same. So Edge is doing the opposite to what you would expect.

-Hi, my name is Claudeir, I'm happy to help you!

Not exactly, with hardware acceleration enabled, the focus is on heavy games and applications, removing any other use of the GPU, so sometimes the GPU doesn't need a fan speed as high as before, as the focus this bigger for the game.

But I suggest that when enabling hardware acceleration, just below, select App from desktop, select your game or app, then select app > options > select your GPU as maximum performance.
