Hi Kathy dean,
Things you need to check for:
1. Make sure that hot sync Manager is running. If it is running, you will see a red and blue circular icon with arrows in the lower right-hand corner of your computer desktop by the clock. If it is not there, this is most likely the cause of the problem
2. Right-click the hot sync Manager icon in the lower right-hand corner of your computer screen. At the top of the menu that opens, you should see some Local options. You may see Local, Local Serial and/or Local USB. Make sure that the appropriate option for your handheld is checked.
3. If you are using a USB (universal serial bus) connection, unplug and re-plug the handheld and then retry the sync.
4. Reboot and retry the sync.
If the issue persists, update the device drivers.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. In Device Manager, locate the USB device and then double-click the device name.
3. Click the Driver tab, and then click update Driver and follow the instructions.
Check the link to manually re-install the drivers

Alternatively, download and install the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website.
Please contact the PDA manufacturer for more help.
