Strange problem while sharing PPPOE connection

Hi all

I have a strange problem when I share my PPPOE connection over another LAN card.

I have shared it with no problem and ticked 'Establish Dialup connection whenever a computer on network attempts to access the internet'.

When I have logged in my pc, whenever another computer from my network tries to access internet, PPPOE connection establishs a connection and there will be no problem.

BUT problem occurs here:

If I power on PC, but don't log in my pc, the PPPOE connection cannot establish connection when other computers try to access internet.

Any idea how should I solve this problem?

Regards

    Hi

As Gary said, PPPOE works well only with a Router when the authentication is done on the WAN side.

What do you mean by Logon? What exactly you need to do?

When sharing PPPOE with ICS, it is a good idea to also configure the two computesr as Network Sharing too with similar users.

    Hi

I know I can share modem, But I was interested in this way more that is more suitable for me. I have connected WAN connection directly to my PC and I use a PPPOE connection on my PC for connecting to internet and I have shared this connection via another network adapter for other network users. In addition I had no problem in Windows XP.

From 'Logon' I meant Log in...O.o means when I power up computer and I wait to reach  to page that asks for password for Log in to my account, the shared PPPOE connection will not connect till I do so, even though network computers on my shared network adapter are trying to connect to internet.

Two computers haven't same user, but I never had any problem in Windows XP, and I personally think having same users isn't really logical for internet sharing.

    Regards

Why not let the modem or router do the PPPoE handshake so you avoid those type of issues.
