It's possible that the driver program caused the issue.

As a rule, I always update my drivers from the device manufacturers website.

You'll want to left click on the Properties entry for the network adapter, after you right click to open the menu.

When I say network adapter, I'm referring to the items in the "Network Adapter" category:

For instance, I have a Broadcom network adapter in this computer that I would right-click on, then select properties.

Hope this helps.

    Hi Plexus,

    ·        Did you make any changes to the comptuer before this issue started?

If the device has a FailReasonString value in its hardware key, that string is displayed as the error message. The driver or enumerator puts this registry string value there. If there is no FailReasonString in the hardware key, you receive the following error message: This device cannot start. (Code 10)

However, you may try the steps below and check if it helps you fix the issue.

    Step 1

    a. Click on Start, in the start search box type CMD,

    b. In the list right click on CMD and click on Run as administrator.

    c. Enter netsh environment. Type "netsh" and ENTER.

    d. Again type "int teredo" and ENTER

    e. Type "set state disabled" and ENTER.

    f. Open Device Manager and uninstall "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface".

    g. Open command prompt with administrator credentials once again.

    h. Type netsh + ENTER.

    i. int ipv6" + ENTER.

    j. Type "set teredo client" + ENTER.

Open Device Manager and Scan for new hardware and select "Show hidden devices" from the View menu and check if you find any errors.

    Step 2

If the above steps do not help, you may try to uninstall the network drivers from the comptuer and reinstall it and check if it helps. Before uninstalling the network drivers, make sure you download the latest drivers from the computer manufacturers website. Follow the steps below to uninstall the network adapter.

Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall network adapter.

    a.  Click on Start

    b.  In the start search box type 'devmgmt.msc' and press enter

    c.  In the Device Manager, expand Network Adapters

    d.  Right click on the installed network adapter and uninstall it.

    e.  Restart the computer and reinstall the network adapter.

Note: While uninstalling the device drivers make sure you place a check mark against "Delete the driver software for this device".

Hope this helps. Let us know the result.

    Thanks and Regards,

Unfortunately, in 2012-2015 the HP site , my manufacturer, has been useless.  I am having ongoing issues and I wonder if my PC even came with the adaptor.... it must have because it is Missing.

I get error messages about the PC regarding the printer that "drivers are missing" and I've been to HP.com 100's of times downloading the drivers to no avail.   I cannot print wirelessly.  I paid for wireless but it's not possible.  Another $1000 down the drain to HP
