Lexmark printer not recognizing the correct ink cartridges.

Original Title: I put a compatable ink cartridge in my Lexmark, it recognized it as non Lexmark and now even after I put a genuine one in, it refuses to recognize my printer or do ANYTHING.. HELP!!

I done the troubleshooting.. it can't find the "file".  I have reinstalled the printer, still no luck.. what's next?

Hi,

Step 1: Run the Microsoft fix it from the following article:

Step 2: Check if the cartridge is properly inserted. Refer to the user’s manual or you may need to contact the printer manufacturer.

    Hello Linda2244,

    In addition to the already excellent advice you have been given, I would recommend contacting Lexmark on this as well.  Ultimately, they are much better versed in how they recognize the cartridges than we are.
