igfxtray.exe

Ever since the last Windows 10 update, I am often getting an optimal resolution error via the igfxtray.exe file. It does not affect the display of my Dell laptop, but the notification is getting rather annoying. If it allows me to set my resolution to the maximum, why notify an error in the first place.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

it has the recommended display settings... igfxtray.exe must have been corrupted during the last update, i think... i don't have a problem with the laptop, it's just that the notif keeps coming every so often

What is the make and model of your Dell?

Open Start > Settings > System > Display

Make sure recommended settings are selected for Scale and Layout and Screen resolution.

Try disabling the Intel Graphics tray icon.

Open Task manager and navigate to Startup tab.

    Right-click Igfxtray.exe and click Disable.
