My function lock keeps turning off

My function lock keeps turning off by itself when my hands are nowhere near the top of the keyboard and therefore nowhere near the function lock key. This is preventing me from doing my job properly and is frustrating me so much it now hurts to type.

It did it just now - I use ALT+F4 to close open windows and it worked to close the previous document, which I renamed using the letters on my keyboard (as previously mentioned - nowhere near the F Lock key) and then it didn't work to close the next. I didn't immediately notice that my function lock had turned itself off, so I couldn't understand why and then remembered that this has been happening on and off for the last month or 2, and thought to look at the LED denoting the F Lock - which was OFF.

How the heck is it doing this???

The keyboard is a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard and it has never done this before, it has just started happening within the last month or 2.

Please help! This is driving me mad!

    Try following -

    1. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter

Type Troubleshoot in Windows Start Search box > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down and click Keyboard > Run the troubleshooter > Follow onscreen directions

    1. Take actions related to Keyboard Driver

Windows Key+X > Click Device Manager > Expand Keyboards > Right click on entry below >

    A. Rollback the Driver

Click Properties > Go to Driver tab > If there is rollback option, click it

    B. Uninstall the Driver

Uninstall > Reboot the computer > The driver will be installed automatically when you restart

Do let me know if you have any more question or require further help. I would be happy to work with you to take you though this problem.
