Dedicated GPU not working on laptop (CODE 43)

A few time ago i've realised that i lost a lot of performance. Then i've seen why. My dedicated GPU (GTX 1650) was not working. I have an HP Pavilion 15-ec2017nq. So that's what I found and tried

The gpu is not seen in the control panel or in the graphics settings.

The gpu is seen in the device manager. Sometimes it says that everything works great, but most of the times (even now) it says 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)'.

nvidia control panel doesn't start

i've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and geforce experience in every way possible. With the nvidia tool, with revouninstaller and with ddu in safe mode. Everytime i open geforce experience the driver appears as uninstalled, i installed it with the express instalation and with the custom instaltion on clean. Then it says it failed. Yes, i've uninstalled the device from the task manager.

in dxdiag it says 'There is a problem with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 device. For more information, search for 'graphics device driver error code 43' '

From device manager i've tried to roll back the drivers but the option is not available.

I've restarted the nvidia services from services.msg. Actually, NVIDIA Display Container LS was the only one appearing.

The last thing i did was trying the command sfc /scannow and i got this: Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I'm out of ideas.

If anyone has any other idea it would mean the world to me. What are the chances of it being a hardware issue?.

Thank you.

    Hello, _mikey.n_

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Hello, sorry to hear about your problem.

Unfortunately you are experiencing problems with your dedicated GPU. You seem to have tried a number of fixes but are still having issues.

I have some suggestions here to raise you:

    1. Update drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your GTX 1650. You can download them from the official NVIDIA website. Make sure to select the correct version for your operating system.
    2. Clean install: Perform a clean install of the GPU driver. This can be done by using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to completely remove any traces of the previous driver installation. Then, reinstall the driver using the downloaded installation file.

To enter Safe Mode you can refer to: Start your PC in safe mode in Windows - Microsoft Support

    1. BIOS Setup: Check your laptop's BIOS setup to ensure that the dedicated GPU is enabled and not disabled or set to "Auto". Look for any options related to switchable graphics processors or GPU settings.

Disclaimer:  Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and  is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party  linked sites or any support related to technology. If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please  back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.

If you have tried all of the above steps and the problem persists, then there may also be a hardware issue with your GPU. In this case, I recommend that you contact HP support for further assistance and diagnosis.

Thank you for your time and effort to work on this topic.

    Best wishes
