Import FoxPro 6 Data to Access

Hi all

I have been tasked with recovering a FoxPro database and hoped to pull the table data/structure into Access.

The table data from FoxPro is in the form of individual DBF files for each table.

The Access import feature lists three DBF file types, although they are all declared to have a dbase origin rather than FoxPro.
You've guessed it, none of these work.

Does anyone have a workaround that will get these old FoxPro DBFs into Access please?
Note that this is FoxPro version 6, I don't believe this is the Visual FoxPro I have seen mentioned.

Thanks

Phil

For those that are following this thread, I managed to retrieve the majority of the FoxPro table data.

The method involved digging out an old machine which has Windows XP and Access 2003, then installing an ODBC driver VFPODBC.dll.

It was then possible to use the Get External Data - Import route.
In Files-of-Type, select the ODBC database then the Machine Data Source tab.
The Visual FoxPro option was then presented and the folder and dbf files could be accessed.

I don't believe that the FoxPro version (6) with which the files were created was actually marketed as "Visual", but as the data retrieval process was largely successful, it matters not.

    Phil
