Windows 11 compatibility issue

I’ve taken a look at the supported CPU list and they do not include mine, an Intel Core i5-7200U. It’s powerful enough to run way more than the base specs of other processors that are on the list. Why is mine not supported?

    Hi Seage07 -

I'm Kevin B., I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

Microsoft usually offers the upgrade to those devices Microsoft believes are the most likely to successfully install the upgrade. If the computer passes the hardware requirements, windows updates will offer the upgrade in stages until such time that device is ready to install the upgrade.

Most of the supported processors for Windows 11 are 8th Gen above and a very few 7th Gen processors which was tested to run on Windows 11. Computer might encounter compatibility issues or some functions might not work properly if windows 11 is installed on an unsupported processor.

You can reach out to your computer manufacturer to check/upgrade your processor to one that support Windows 11.

You can also stay with Windows 10 as it is still supported until 2025.

Hope this will help and have a blessed day!

    Thanks,

    Kevin B.

Wrong! Check again. You've checked the wrong list.

The right one doesn't have it: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

I've got a compatible CPU Core i5-7400T 2.40GHz, that is on the list of compatible processors, and PC Health Checker says that it is not compatible

Security reasons. The processor doesn't support the security req. of Win11. That's all.
