Restart your computer and try again.

You may have left files from the Wallpaper apps on Windows. Some programs are not uninstalled completely.

Download and install Revo Uninstaller, and see if any Wallpaper apps appear hidden in the program.

    1. Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall the program. See the link below:

    https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstalle...

NOTE: This is not a Microsoft website, but it seems to provide accurate and secure information. Be aware of advertisements that may advertise products that are often classified as PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Products). Search for any product advertised on the site before deciding to download and install it.

    1. Download Revo and install it > Find the program you want and double-click on it > Click “Continue'' > Follow the steps of the program to uninstall it.
    • Also look in Windows Apps.
    1. After uninstalling the program, go back to Revo > In Uninstall Mode, select ''Advanced'' > Click on ''Check”.
    2. Revo will look for any remnants of the program files and logs when it is uninstalled. Select all of them and delete them, then continue until you’re done > Restart your computer.
    3. If the problem persists, install both programs again and uninstall with Revo > Restart your computer > Try again.

Also perform a manual cleanup of Windows temporary files.

    1. Press the WINDOWS + R keys to open Run > Type "temp" (without quotes) > Select and delete all files in the Folder.
    • Click "Continue" if it requires Administrator authorization.
    • If some files cannot be deleted, check the "Do this for all current items" option > Click "Skip".
    1. Press the WINDOWS + R keys to open Run > Type "%temp%" (without quotes) > Select and delete all files in the Folder.
    2. Press the WINDOWS + R keys to open Run > Type "prefetch" (without quotes) > Select and delete all files in the Folder.
    3. Press WINDOWS + R keys to open Run > Type "%windir%\SoftwareDistribution\Download" (without quotes) > Select and delete all files in the Folder.
    4. Lastly, use Disk Cleanup > Press WINDOWS+ R keys > Type "cleanmgr" (without quotes) > Press ENTER.
    5. When you open the tool, Select the system disk > Click "Clean up system files" > Select the system disk again > Check all the boxes > Click "OK".

    Hello!

Perform a cleanup of Windows Update files and then try using the Update Assistant.

    1. Press WINDOWS + I > Windows Update > Click Pause Updates > Restart your PC.
    2. Wait a few minutes after restarting your PC > Turn updates back on by clicking “Resume updates”.

This solution may help clear or fix the failed update.

    Third-party Softwares

Third-party Softwares such Antivirus and VPN can cause this updates issue.

Uninstall or temporarily disable third-party software.

If Windows Update was working properly, and the update problem appeared after installing some program, try uninstalling or disabling that program.

    Windows Update Troubleshooting

    1. Open Windows Settings (WINDOWS + I keys) > Select "System" > "Troubleshooting".
    2. Under "Other troubleshooters", click "Windows Update Troubleshooting".
    3. After the error is complete, restart your computer and see if the problem is resolved.

    Delete Windows Update Temporary Files

    1. Type "'Command Prompt'" in the Search Bar > Right-click on the app > Select '''Run as administrator''.
    2. Now let's type the following commands.

ATTENTION: Type the entire command on the first line > Press ENTER > Wait for the command to complete > Run the next command on the list.

    net stop wuauserv

    net stop Bits

    net stop cryptsvr

    net stop msiserver

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

    net start wuauserv

    net start cryptSvc

    net start bits

    net start msiserver

    1. This will force the system to download new files > When finished, restart your computer and see if the problem is resolved.
    2. Click "Download now" in Windows 11 Installation Assistant.
