The IP settings were set appropriately. The image shows what happened when I tried restarting the DHCP client.
Of note, after clicking restart and receiving the below message, there is no longer any wifi option on the laptop. It has disappeared.

Hello,
After the most recent windows update (3/28/2025), I lost the ability to use the internet. The device shows connected, but I always get the following code, DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET. When troubleshooting, network diagnostics says it can't identify the problem or DCHP Server isn't responding. I know the router is not the issue as all of my other devices are connected without issue. Ethernet is currently not an option as I'm on a work trip, staying in a hotel.
Steps I have taken, none of which have worked:
-uninstall Windows update
-use a wifi dongle
-restart computer many, many times
-release and renew current ip address
-clear the current dns cache
-clear browing history and cache
-network adapter and winsock reset
-updated network driver (none were available)
-changed the device's dns server to both cloudflare and Google dns
-disable anti-virus and firewall temporarily
-Windows malware quick scan, full scan and Microsoft defender anti-virus offline scan

Windows might have set your connection to a static IP instead of DHCP after the update.
Check Your IP Settings:
1: Press Win + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
2: Right-click your active Wi-Fi adapter > Properties.
3: Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Properties.
4: Make sure both options are set to:
Obtain an IP address automatically
Obtain DNS server address automatically
5: Click OK and restart your PC.
Restart the DHCP Client Service:
1: Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
2: Find DHCP Client in the list.
3: Right-click it and select Restart.
4: If it's not running, right-click > Start.
5: Also check: Startup Type should be set to Automatic
