Hey, recently i broke my gpu geforce by dropping my drink accidently and it splashed inside my pc, idk if it broke anything else but it works now, my friend gave me his gpu and its a poseidon geforce 670 and i installed it and tried to run a game but it has fps lag on pixel games and some games cant even start, like minecraft says GLFW error 65542:WGL - driver does not appear to suport OpenGL. If i try to install drivers from nivida experience i get blue screen and then everything needs to be rolled back to previous backup system restore point in safe mode... could the problem be in motherboard or?

    Dear Matt0010,

Thanks for getting back to this thread and updating me with the error code.

Since the minidump file has not been created, it is hard to indicate which file is causing the issue.

BSODs are generally caused either by faulty hardware or software corruption. Hardware failure can be caused by overheating, power supply issues, incompatibilities, or bad memory.

On the other hand, software-related BSODs are the result of timing inconsistency, driver incompatibility, and operating system corruption.

However, I will provide you with the general methods for troubleshooting this issue:

1-Since you can not download the latest Graphics card driver as you mentioned, disable the graphics card driver from Device Manager and try to download then install the driver from the manufacturer's website.

2-Run Command Prompts as administrator and type this command:

    sfc /scannow

Then hit enter. Wait till the whole process finish.

3-Go to Settings > Update and Security > Check for update > Update all the pending updates

4-Scan your computer for any viruses and malware.

5- Placing your system in the Clean Boot state helps in identifying if any third-party applications or startup items are causing the issue. You need to follow the steps from the article mentioned below to perform a Clean Boot.

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

If the issue does not occur in clean boot, then you may determine which application/service on the computer is causing this issue.

6-Reset your PC to reinstall Windows which leads to delete settings, and apps, except for the apps that came with your PC and personal data.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how...

7-If possible, perform a clean installation. most of the time clean installation fixes BSoD as it will reinstall all the latest drivers

    https://www.kapilarya.com/how-to-make-clean-ins....

8-If all the methods above do not solve the issue, it is best to take it to a reliable maintenance store to take a look at it.

Please configure Windows 10 to Create Dump Files if this time does BSOD:

    Dear Matt,

Thanks for the update and for getting back to this thread.

All looks good now. use your computer for some days and monitor it if you face any BSoD. Then, create a system restore point and try to download the driver from the manufacturer's website to see if you experience the BSOD or not. If it happens, check to see if a minidump file is created or not and share it with me.

    Please keep me updated.

Hey, thanks, heres sfc scannow result -

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!Avf8R8JTiSuJdXVTefl1BOnx87I?e=leJKrC

Do you think the problem could be in motherboard? cmd scannow did fix some faulty microsoft files.

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.

For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at

windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline

repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

I have all updates and such, also i was wondering about step one 1 -" download then install the driver from the manufacturer's website." Wouldnt i get blue screen if i do that and need to do system restore again? thanks
