My laptop meets all the requirements for windows 11 expect for the cpu. I read that you need a 7 generation or newer intel cpu to run windows 11. I have an intel 7 generation i5(7200U). So then why cant I install windows 11 on my laptop?
Microsoft was looking into admitting 7th generation Intel Core processors into the club, but finally settled on only three Core i7 78xx series CPUs.
Still, your processor should meet all the performance and hardware security requirements (UEFI BIOS, secure boot, TPM 2.0, and virtualization based security). You might want to make sure the features are all enabled, using the PC Health Check app. Or the WhyNotWin11 app.
To install Windows 11, you can read the instructions here, specifically those that describe Installation Assistant:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
The caveat being, Microsoft might not offer periodic security and feature updates, for such "unapproved" CPUs. They would much rather you bought a new computer.
