Windows 10 version 1909 updates not working.

So, I am currently running Windows 10 version 1909. I want to update to version 21H2, but when I tried, it downloaded just fine, but when installing, it went up to 20% and failed and reverted back. I've tried this multiple times, but it always happens. I get a different error code every time and nothing is working. I've tried the troubleshooter, restart, recovery, everything! Then I decided to update the Windows Update drivers and some of my other updates went through. But soon after that, I stopped getting updates altogether. For some reason, Windows displays the 'You are not up to date' and the 'You are missing important security and quality fixes,' but when I click check for updates, it runs for about a minute and just displays the same thing again. No available updates but not up to date. I have not paused updates and I am not on a metered connection.

    HI,

    Sorry if it didn't help.

I will now recommend that you try to repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade to fix the system.

You can follow the guide from the link below.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

As support for version 1909 finished in May 2021 you probably won't get updates via windows update unless you can update to the latest version.

It could be the hardware that is no longer supported (depending on age) so check with the manufacturer's website for driver updates and possibly a bios update for the motherboard.

Hello! First of all, thank you very much for helping, but I still have a few problems.

I tried the Command Prompt thing (1) and it managed to install exactly one update successfully, but when I clicked check for updates again, it stopped showing updates again. I also tried the System File Checker, but that didn't work either. As for the Windows Update Assistant, I've already tried it and it didn't work

Have you tried the latest ISO image file from Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com) or the update assistant. When you use the ISO image file open File Explorer and locate the downloaded ISO, Mount it and select the new drive letter and run setup. When updating apply the following:

    1. Update offline.
    2. Uninstall any 3rd party antivirus.
    3. Perform a clean boot How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support
