Paging file issue

Dear community,

Everytime my computer starts, a "Performance Options" window is already open on the desktop, the "Advanced" tab is active. In "virtual memory", "no paging file" is set. The Paging File Size of C: is "none". If I set "system managed size" and "automatically set paging file size for all drives", press ok, apply and restart, nothing changes. "no paging file" is still set. Also tried custom size, at restart it stubbornly sets back to "no paging file".

It seriously affects performance. Anybody knows about a fix. I run a vintage SurfacePro 1st Generation. Updates are to date. It started while backing up my iPhone, the drive got full and crashed. Some users point an error in registry. Here is a screenshot of mine:

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I just want to share the fix I found.

The pagefile.sys has been corrupted. It is hidden. Running a check disk fixed the issue (Drive/Properties/Error checking).

    Hope it can help others.
