The other day, I was surfing the news on Edge, then decided to take a nap, and when I came back, I had a message that said there was an error and to fix the error, reboot the computer. I didn't pay attention to the error name, if there even was one. I just rebooted thinking my computer was freaking out because I had left it idle for a couple hours.
I'm no computer wizard, but I can follow clear instructions.
I rebooted my computer, and it never booted back into windows. It went thru an automatic repair sequence, then gave me the message that it had encountered a problem and needed to reboot the computer. It reboots itself, and when it starts back up, it gives me the blue screen, and Automatic Repair. It says "your PC did not start correctly. Press "Restart" to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press "Advanced options" to try other options to repair your PC." It has two buttons to click, Restart, and Advanced options.
Clicking restart reboots the PC, but comes right back to this same screen.
Clicking Advance options takes me to a Choose an Option page. Which gives me options to
- Continue, Exit and continue to Windows 10. - which does not work, it boots back to this same blue screen mentioned above.
- Use a device, use a USB drive, network connection, or windows recover DVD. - which I have not tried.
- Troubleshoot, reset your P or see advanced options. - which takes me to another screen with more options. a. Reset this PC. b. Advanced options, which again, gives me additional options.
b1. Startup Repair, Fix problems that keep Windows from loading. - which again, after clicking all the stuff, boots me back to the original blue screen.
b2. Startup Settings - which also doesn't help. And I cannot boot into safe mode nor safe mode with networking.
b3. Command Prompt, use the command prompt for advanced troubleshooting. - I've tried a few things like chkdsk, and scandsk, which has not helped.
b4. Uninstall Updates, using this, I uninstalled the latest feature update. When I tried to uninstall the latest quality update, it ran into problems, and again, I ended back up at the original blue screen.
b5. UEFI Firmware Settings, which tells me to restart.
b6. System Restore, I tried this, but it says I do not have ant restore points saved. (odd!)
b7. System Image Recovery, Recover Windows using a specific system image file. - I have not tried this because I have no idea what it is, or what it will do.
I've googled the error STOPCODE, and it offers alot of info that involves error codes with more info like 0xc000021a, and other similar numbers. None of which applies to me. There is nothing about just "stopcode." Most of the info I can find requires me to boot into safe mode, which I cannot do.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions or fixes offered. I'm at a complete loss.
