Promptflow deployment documentation doesn't reflect the UI in Ai foundry

Hi,

I'm following the documentation here to create and deploy a PromptFlow as a web app: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/tutorials/deploy-chat-web-appimage

Previously, when selecting the PromptFlow option from the Chat Playground, it would automatically generate an Advanced RAG PromptFlow. This included features like query rewriting, multiple intent creation, and advanced system prompting. However, I can no longer find this option in the current interface, and the available PromptFlow templates no longer include the advanced RAG setup.

Could you please confirm whether this functionality is still available? I'm specifically looking for the simplified, click-through method that was previously offered in AI Foundry. I’d prefer not to build the flow manually from scratch.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,

Asha

    Hi Asha !

Thank you for posting on MS Learn Q&A.

The behavior you are seeing is expected. The documentation you referenced is now part of the Foundry classic portal documentation not the current Microsoft Foundry portal experience. The page explicitly states that it applies only to the Foundry classic portal and that it provides legacy support for hub based projects not the newer Foundry project experience.

The old click through experience from Chat Playground then Prompt flow that generated an Advanced RAG PromptFlow is no longer reflected in the current Foundry UI.

In the current experience, Microsoft is moving the recommended path toward Model playground / Agents playground, where you configure tools, knowledge sources, and grounding directly from the playground rather than generating that older Advanced RAG PromptFlow automatically.

So, for your specific question: the simplified one click generation of the old Advanced RAG PromptFlow does not appear to be available in the current UI in the same way.

I would suggest raising feedback on the Learn page as well because the tutorial can be confusing if users are working in the new Foundry portal rather than the classic portal.
