Error approving login via Authenticator app
To access my Microsoft account, I'm using the Authenticator app for validation. Therefore, I don't use a password; I simply approve the login from the notification I receive in the Authenticator app. This worked until now, but now I get a message saying "That password is incorrect for your Microsoft account" (see the image below), even though I'm not using a password! In the Authenticator app, I don't receive any error, just the message that the login was approved successfully.
I've reinstalled the Authenticator app, disabled and re-enabled alternative login methods... Nothing works. The issue has occurred on both my smartphone and my laptop.

Is microsoft even reading this??
im using chrome and brave...
but it started after using my new samsung phone. so authenticator-data was restored on new phone, had several where i had to 're-indentify' (to call it like that) but now everything is in order.when i need to use it, i get notification on both phones. doesn't matter on which i use. In the phone i get the approved message but website always says password in correct.
My main account is passwordless! even here i get password incorrect.@ms, please tell us how to proceed

2025-07-26T20:29:41.8+00:00 I am having the same issue, started intermittent at first, then it consistently stopped working. I have an email and mobile sms set as alternatives, getting codes through sms on the mobile is no longer working, and at one point getting codes through emails stopped working locking me out of my account completely for almost a day. I seem to be able to get codes through emails now, but authenticator still not working.
