MS Teams App on Android Does Not Autocorrect

I'm using the Teams app on the Work profile of my S24 Ultra. At initial install, when I messaged someone in chat, it would autocorrect typos as normal. However, after some time, it stopped autocorrecting. I'm running One UI 7.0 with Android version 15. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times. It helps to reset my keyboard settings but then stops autocorrecting again after about 10 minutes. Any help is appreciated. Or, is this just a bug?

Thanks for the response! I installed Gboard and it seems to work so far.

    Hi reyesand,
Thanks for sharing the details about your issue with the Microsoft Teams app. I see that you have trouble with autocorrect with the app on Android, affecting Microsoft Teams (and Outlook) on Android devices when used within a Work Profile—especially on newer setups like Samsung S24 Ultra with One UI 7.0 and Android 15. The issue is not caused by user error or misconfiguration, but rather by a compatibility flaw between Teams’ text input handling and Android’s enterprise environment.
Autocorrect initially works but fails shortly after, likely due to how Teams interacts with the keyboard service in a managed profile. This behavior has been consistently reported across devices, keyboards (Samsung Keyboard, Gboard), and even other Microsoft apps like Outlook.

Several workarounds can help you in this problem:

    • Reset Samsung Keyboard:

Go to Settings > General Management > Samsung Keyboard Settings

    Tap Reset to default settings

Select Reset keyboard settings and confirm.

    • Switch to Gboard (if allowed):

Open the Work Profile Play Store (briefcase icon).

Search for Gboard and install it.

Go to Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default

Enable Gboard and set it as default.

Open Gboard Settings > Text Correction

Ensure Show suggestion strip and Auto-correction are turned ON.

    • Switch to Microsoft SwiftKey (alternative):

Install SwiftKey from the Work Play Store.

Set it as default keyboard via Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and default

In SwiftKey Settings, enable Auto-correct and Prediction

    • Toggle Teams’ “Text Predictions” Setting

Open the Microsoft Teams app (Work Profile).

Tap your profile picture > Settings > Messaging

    Find Text Predictions

    • If it's OFF, turn it ON and restart Teams.
    • If it's ON, try turning it OFF to see if your keyboard’s native suggestions work better.
    • Clear Cache/Data for Keyboard and Teams

    Samsung Keyboard:

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Samsung Keyboard.
    2. Tap Storage.
    3. Tap Clear Cache and then Clear Data (note: this resets learned words).

    Microsoft Teams:

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Teams (Work).
    2. Tap Storage > Clear Cache
      • Avoid Clear Data unless necessary (it will sign you out).
    • Use Voice Typing or Compose Outside Teams

    Voice Typing:

    1. Open Teams chat.
    2. Tap the microphone icon on your keyboard.
    3. Speak your message clearly.
    4. Tap to stop and review the transcribed text.

    Compose Outside Teams:

    1. Open a personal app like Samsung Notes or Google Keep.
    2. Type your message (autocorrect should work here).
    3. Copy the text.
    4. Paste it into the Teams chat.

Until a patch is released, your feedback contributes to pushing for a resolution, Reporting the issue via Teams’ in-app feedback and involving IT to escalate through enterprise support: Settings > Help & feedback > Report an issue
Should you have any further questions or need help with on this topic, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Warm regards,
