Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Dear Danny
Good day! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. We'll be happy to help!
First of all, we apologize for the inconvenience caused to your work. Based on your description, I have a general understanding of your question, I did a similiar test as yours, please kindly check my test steps: I opened an email that I received on 8.1, and then added some simple text and forwarded the email, and then I found it in the original location of the email in my inbox, and I also found this email in the folder of the sent item folder, please kindly refer to the following screenshot:
.
So to help you better, I still need collect more information to narrow down the scope of question:
- Can you see this email in your sent item folder?
- If you try to forward a new email to do a test, will the same sitution you will get? Please kindly test it, thanks.
- Which links are you using to login OWA(outlook web app)? https://outlook.office.com/https://outlook.live.com
- I need to double confirm whether you have tried this: organize or group your inbox into conversations in the outlook view and check if there is any difference. Select View >Messages (if you are using simplified view) >Conversations >Group into conversations.
- Please also kindly check whether you have set some rules to control your forwarded emails, thanks.
Please kindly believe that I will do my best to do more research and testing to help you further when I get the feedback from you I need.
Please note that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
Sincerely
