Message for Louie Del

Hi Louie

I saw Herb B's post of 24/01/2021 and your initial response. I have had a similar repeated monthly experience over the past six months and my service provider maintains that it is an Outlook issue, not their server issue.

To send/receive e-mails, I use the desktop version of Outlook from within Office 365, with BT as my service provider and BT webmail in the background. The devices I use are, principally, a Lenovo Think Centre and secondarily a Microsoft Surface Laptop 4, both running Windows 11. Apart from the regular 365 updates, no other changes have been made.

The error code is as follows: -

I would appreciate any assistance that can be offered.

Dear {PeteB}

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand your situation and needs. From the content of the error report. There may be a problem with your mailbox server's connection to Outlook. It is causing frequent disconnections from the mailbox server.

You can create a new profile to reconfigure your mailbox. You can ask your mailbox provider what the specific configuration information is. Ask if you need to turn on certain settings to accommodate logging into Outlook. this is because many mailbox providers are now focusing more and more on mailbox security. For example, Gmail, Yahoo and other mailboxes require additional security settings when reconfiguring to Outlook. So I suggest you ask your email provider if they have similar settings. You can refer to this link to learn how to create a new profile.

You can also turn off the firewall when configuring mailboxes again. It is possible that the firewall is blocking the connection to the mailbox server.

Disclaimer: Follow these steps to temporarily turn off real-time Microsoft Defender antivirus protection in Windows Security. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn on it immediately once issue fixed.

I hope that my reply will be helpful to you.

Best Regards,
