OneNote Find and Replace

Finding and replacing a word or words used to be as easy as hitting control+F and then typing int the word. I cannot figure out how to do this for the life of me in the new version of OneNote 16001.11901.20096.0 .

If I am missing something blatantly obvious please let me know how to do this.

While I appreciate you having a solution - this is a terrible solution. What once involved just a few clicks to replace a word/phrase, now must take tens or perhaps hundreds of clicks to do an edit.

It seems that a very useful program is slowly having features removed so that it becomes useless. Is the Product Manager of OneNote surrounded by "yes" people. Do you not run these new products by focus groups made up from those who actually use OneNote? I just keep scratching my head at the direction MS is taking on this product.

Please do not ruin this product any further than you have already.

I am also using OneNote for Windows 10 and agree that the lack of a implementation of a Find and Replace feature is a significant oversight on part of the development team. Find and replace functionality is something that many, many simple text editors have. Does Microsoft or Office have a feature request forum where users can upvote to request implementation of features?

    Thanks

I printed out a PDF document to a onenote page. On that page, I am trying to use the "find" function to locate words from that printout. No matter what words I search, the results always come up empty. I've tried printing several different documents and this happens every time. Is there a solution I'm not seeing?

    Hi Joe,

From your description, I understand you are using OneNote for Windows 10.

May I know if the Find and Replace feature you mentioned is what described in this article?

Find and replace text in notes

If yes, it is still available in OneNote for Windows 10, the difference is that after we type the text we want to find in the search box, we need to hit Enter to show the search results. The search results pane is on the left side of the window.

And it is a manual way to replace the text in each page in the search result list.

If above is not what you are looking for, feel free to let me know. Appreciate your time and effort.

    Best regards,

    Tina

    Hi Mandala,

You may send your feedback to UserVoice, it's a specific place where customers can request feature, share comments and vote for ideas. This is helpful to let the related team know your requirements and help improve the product to make it better for you and others.

    Best regards,

    Tina
