Microsoft forms validation (restrictions)

I am using MS Forms for purpose of  creating one specific survey. In that survey I need to validate input response of text type question against simple function, similar to Excel, e.g. Iseven(input response) or mod(input response, 2)=0 or len(input response)=5. In Execl, all the above simple formulas in addition to more complicated ones are possible, but in Forms, even these simple ones are not possible. The only available validations (restrictions) are for number formatting.

My question, is there a way to make these simple formula validations in Forms?

If anybody has an idea, does the advanced Forms Pro version have such validation capabilities?

Appreciate all your inputs

Hi Ali,

Thanks for writing back and appreciate for taking your time to provide a feedback for improving Microsoft products. If you still have any other concern about the restriction in Microsoft Form that is not stated in idea you voted, you can create a new idea for bringing attention to related team.

Appreciate your understanding and sorry for delay response.

Thanks,

Chitrahaas

    Hi Chitrahaas,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have voted to the related idea as you suggested. Is ok or shall I also provide a feedback to MS Form UserVoice too?

    Hi Ali,

Based on your description, we would like to convey that it’s not possible to make a formula validation in Microsoft Forms. We can understand the importance of this feature and sorry for it, we suggest you provide the feedback in Microsoft Form UserVoice or you can add a vote to a related idea Restrictions  as it reaches to related team. Many of new features are implemented from ideas provided by users.

    Appreciate your understanding.

    Thanks,

    Chitrahaas
