I have created custom labels and use it to add to captions in many tables in my word document.

Now I want to list the standard labels as well as custom created labels in the List of Figures and List of Tables.

However, upon clicking References > Captions > Insert Table of Figures, the standard label for Table, Figure is shown, but the custom label which I had created and used in the document, is not shown for adding to the table of figures.

Please advise on how to achieve this.

    Hi SN_01,

Sorry for the inconvenience. I have tested on my side on Word for Mac 16.28, all my captions displayed well in list of figures, so I would like to confirm some information to help us narrow down your situation.

    1. For Table of Figures, please make sure you have done the steps in the article: Create or change a table of figures.

    1. To turn off Tracking Changes, please follow the steps in the article: Use tracked changes.
    2. Does this problem happen before? Have you done any changes to Word before the problem happened?
    3. Please try starting your Mac in safe mode to narrow down whether the problem is related to third party add-ins.
    4. Does this problem happen to all the files you have? If it only affects to one document, you may copy the content of the problematic one to a new document.
    5. Word version. (Word>About Word)
    6. Mac version. (Apple icon>About this Mac)

Here are the articles about Captions and table of figures.

You may also try to update manually: do Command A(Select All) and press F9(update selected fields).

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Best Regards,
