    Hi Jeff,

Sorry for the inconvenience it may have caused.

To troubleshoot the problem you met, you may try to update Office 365 for Mac to the latest version. With Office updated, some problems would get resolved. So it’s a good idea to keep Office up to date.

And we need to collect some information to further check the scenario:

    1. Please provide the Office version and macOS version.

Office version: After opening Excel client, click Excel > About Microsoft Excelon the menu.

macOS version: Click Apple icon > About this Mac on the menu.

    1. Does the issue exist in all Word documents? Or just some specific ones?
    2. Do you encounter any similar problems when using other Office apps like Excel and PowerPoint?

    Best regards,

    Madoc

I don't use other Office elements.

If I cut and paste into a new document, things are fine. The existing volumes were ONCE in Garamond but are now in Times New Roman.

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your update. I'm pleased to know you've found a workaround to the problem.

Because the technology used by Office 365 for Mac is different from some older versions of Word document, some fonts may conflict with the existing version during use.

If you want to continue to resolve the issue, we may need to collect some other information with you:

    1. Will Garamond and Times New Roman work in the new workbook?

    2. If I copy and paste the original document to another Mac, can it be saved normally?

    Best regards,

    Madoc
