Question

Why does the little person show up next to a folder when I have not shared that folder with anyone? I click on manage access to confirm and I am the only one with access.

Thanks for sharing updates with us.

If you see a "people" icon next to your OneDrive files or folders, this indicates the file or folder has been shared with other people.  I have tested from my side when I share a sub folder within main folder the people icon only shows in sub folder not in main folder. See image below for your reference: 

Since, issue only happen to one folder I suggest you please open your OneDrive online and right- click on problematic folder >click on Manage access> remove the share link and then again share a sub folder and see the result in main folder does still you see people icon on main folder.

Thank-you for your reply.  The little person icon is just on one folder.  I have shared a fold within that folder; but did not intend to share the entire thing; a sub folder within the main folder.  

I have other folders outside of the one that I'm asking about where a sub folder is shared; however, does not have the little person icon there.  When I right click, do share and the manage access; no one shows up indicating that the folder is shared.

I apologize for all the trouble it has caused and sorry about your time.

As per your description, I have tested form my little person icon only appears when we share a folder to other see image below for your reference:

Since, you mention you haven’t share folder to other and you are still able to see little person icon on your folder. To move further may I know does issue happen to only specific folder. If possible, could you please create a new folder in OneDrive for business and see the result, it will help for us to narrow down your issue. 

Also, if possible, could you please share with us screenshot from your side.
