autosave error when editing a shared word document in Teams

I have 4-5 people editing a word document within teams.  In the past several days, we receive an error message.  The message says "Couldn't save automatically. To avoid losing your changes, please copy them before you reload this document." It appears in a yellow stripe at the top of the document, and has a "Reload" button at the end of it. It asks several times during a 30 minute error.

The document is stored in a Teams channel with an owner, members and guests.  The errors is happening to all user types. It doesn't happen in other documents (either different type) or for other channels within Teams.

    Hi Dawn,

Thanks for posting in the forum.

From the post, I understand you are getting the below error and the error is occurring in a specific document.

I have experienced this error myself and I’ve also seen some reports in community where other customers have encountered the same issue.

At present, the simplest and fastest solution is to save the file as the new copy, after confirming that the new file works properly, you can delete the original problematic file.

Hope the above suggestion helps you.Have a nice day and stay safe 😊

    Kind Regards,

    Neha
