XY scatter plot not using proper x values

I don't know why - but I can't get the X-Axis of my scatter chart to display the correct values.

Also, I can't create a chart that uses data from a different sheet.  I have to work around by first creating the chart in another sheet and then cut and paste.

The main question is how to make the chart show the correct x-axis values.

Check the formatting (or rather the source) of the data in A columns of your data sheets, i.e. the X-ranges. As the data are left adjusted I guess they maybe incorrectly formatted (or rather generated), maybe as Text. If not all data in the X-range are interpreted as a number, Excel will just use a default numbering (1, 2, 3, and so on) for the X-axis, and that is what you see in your scatter chart.

    Hope this helps / Lars-Åke

@Lars-Åke Aspelin - That was the problem - the x-data was text, not numbers.

I imported a text file.   Not sure why the other two columns came in as numbers, but the first came in as text.  Weird.  But, now I know what to look for.

    Thanks!
