Word template "normal" changed

Question

Hi, I tried to create a new template with my preferred fonts and headings etc in word. When I saved it - it then said do you want to apply this change to everything and I said yes, now every single doc says "I have made a change to the normal template, and do I want to save it". How do I reverse this, and stop this error message from happening- about 15 times a day!

Hi freesiabell,

I suppose you are getting the following message every time you save a document. Correct?

"Changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal.dotm. Do you want to save those changes?"

This issue may usually occur if Prompt before saving Normal template option is turned on. To fix this, follow these steps.

1. In Word, click File>Options>Advanced.
2. Under Save section, click to clear the Prompt before saving Normal template check box.
3. Click OK to close the Word Options dialog box.

If you still get the same message, please provide us with the following information to troubleshoot the issue further:

1. Please provide the screenshot of Microsoft 365 Product Information. To get this screenshot, open Word or Excel on your system, click File>Account, capture the screenshot of all the information mentioned under Product Information.
2. A screenshot of the complete message.

I see you have clicked Save option on the side bar, you need to click on Advanced. Please check the screenshot I provided in my post.
