Trying to create a formula based formatting rule to format the dates in column A as bold with dark red text and light red fill when the profit margin in Column G is <40%

    Hi, I'm Elise, an independent advisor and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

    There is a very good tutorial here which explains how to setup a formula for conditional formatting based on another cell.

    Once you have your formula setup, you just pick how you want the target cell formatted.

    Hi 

    Assuming row 1 is for the headers and Data is from row 2 downwards 

    1-Select on column A range A2:A####

    2-and use this formula for the conditional formatting

    =$G2<40%
