When I carryout a regression analysis with one X variable(one column) and few Y variables (few columns) an error pops to the effect that "Regression - Input Range must be a single row or column". This error din't appear earlier when I used to run regression analysis.

In attempt, I select the entire column of data points in X variable (say 10 data points/rows) and I select, for instance, two columns and the similar amount in rows for Y variables (10 data points/rows).

My excel version is 16.49 Microsoft Excel for Mac.

Hi Janithgamlath,

Based on your post, I tried searching for the error and I found a similar case, please check the following link for reference.

I also found some other links that might help you.

Incorrect output is returned when you use the Linear Regression (LINEST) function in Excel

Note: Though the above references are for Excel for Windows, the fundament is same for Excel for mac. I tried to find the references for Excel for mac, but I couldn’t find any.

Kind regards,

Neha
