Stacking fields in an Access form

I know how to remove the layout of a stack of fields in an Access form (select controls and go to Design View) and how to re-apply the stacked layout. But sometimes when I apply the stack it is a mess, with the labels above the data fields and blank fields next to them. Any suggestions to ensure that the stack layout turns out better (that is data always to the right of the label)? Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy, I'm an independent adviser and will try to help.

Frankly, I can't provide a direct solution. I never use that feature. I have found it to be quirky and cumbersome. What I suspect might be happening is if you move a label independently of the corresponding control, it may not revert to a regular layout.

What I do is drag the controls (they are controls, not fields) into close to the layout I want, then use the Align tools and the Left and Top Properties to precisely place the controls.

If you need further clarification on this feel free to ask.
