Standard Cursor Pointer and Pen Cursor Dot Switched in Microsoft Whiteboard, OneNote, etc.

Hi,

For some reason, the standard mouse cursor/pointer appears when drawing with an attached tablet (such as Wacom CTL-4100 or Huion 680S). In OneNote, the pen dot meant for drawing appears when the cursor is moved to the toolbar, but then reverts to the mouse cursor when returned to the note / drawing space. In Whiteboard, the mouse cursor persists in both the toolbar and draw space. I'm running a fully updated Windows 10 with 'Pen & Ink' enabled and 'show cursor' unchecked. This same behavior occurs on both my Acer and my Lenovo Yoga.

Is there any way to fix this at present? Or does Microsoft know when a fix for this bug will become available? Does this same problem occur with the current Microsoft Surface products (the Surface Go 2 for instance) using the Surface Pen? I'm considering buying one but will probably go with an iPad instead if this problem also exists for the Surface products.

Thanks,

Erik

I am having the same issue and have been waiting for a solution on this. Any update? The cursor behaviour is quite annoying, especially when using OneNote together with Teams and screen-sharing (small cursor when in toolbar not really visible, large cursor in writing area is distracting).

On a Windows Desktop PC with Windows 10 Education, 20H2, build 19042.985, a Wacom Intuos Pro M, using OneNote for Windows Version 16001.13801.20534.0.

Could we get a fix for this PLEASE? It is so annoying trying to draw with a big arrow on the screen. I love using One Note and Ink, but I just can't with this huge arrow on the screen.

Is there any update on this issue? I prefer OneNote for Windows 10 over the OneNote app, but using the "for Windows 10" version with my Wacom One tablet makes it so when I select pens I get the small circle cursor and when I draw I get the big mouse pointer cursor - total opposite of what I want and what any sane human would want. This bug does not exist on the other version of OneNote, so I am forced to use that one. It'd be great to see this issue fixed....

You can create a workaround with autohotkey, can't believe it's been so long and MS has still not fixed this issue
