iOS for Excel

Just recently when I update a spreadsheet on my iPad and press the back arrow the spreadsheet hangs with a message that is is being saved. I have to resort to restarting the iPad to gain access once more.

Furthermore when I open the spreadsheet I receive a dialogue stating it is downloading the spreadsheet. I find this strange as the spreadsheet is stored on my iPad but makes me suspicious something else is going on. This issue occurred before I upgraded to iOS 15.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

    I apologize by the situation.

I'm very sad for the problem that my suggest created for you.

As i says in my previous entry you can try to recover the files using

    a File Recovery Tool.

There are many diferent tools with very good references in IOs.

There are free and pay tools.

You can download from the ApleStore one of them, install it and

    recover your files.

    Apeaksoft

    iMyFone D-Back

    iPhone Backup Extractor

    Wondershare

    Stellar

    Syncios

Each tools give you the option to recover the removed files.

I really hope that you can recover your files.

    Virtual greetings.

The files are gone. To quote Apple support:

“Local storage on the iPad is almost always tied to the app it is for. If you delete the app, the files that it contained go with it.”

Hi, I'm really sorry the situation.

Please do note that uninstalling Excel on IOs will not delete your local files. I suggest you to open your File Manager and check if the files are saved in there or not.

The suggest of reinstall Office been useful to many users in many scenarios and this is the first time that happen a problem like that you describe.

If you can't find your files using the file manager, I suggest that contact to Aple support service to clarify what happened with these files.

Alternativelly you can use a file recovery tool availables for IOs.

Virtual Greetings and have a nice day!

I did as you suggested and uninstalled and reinstalled Excel on my iPad. The result is all my spreadsheets have been deleted from my iPad. These spreadsheets represent cumulative history of work and they have gone.

They were not on cloud storage they were on my iPad and they have gone. Please advise how I can retrieve them as just now I am really fed up!

Hello, I warmly welcome you to the Community. I'm Israel and it is a pleasure to be able to support you today.

Please, you can try with one of these methods:

    1. You should verify if there are some pending up-to-dates to Office and execute these updates.
    2. You try to repair your Office installation.
    3. If you don't solve the problem you can:

    a. Fully uninstall your Office app.

    b. Reboot the computer and install Office again.

Virtual Greetings and have a nice day!
