I have been trying to enable Powerview in Excel and have followed the steps recommended in a (now locked) thread exactly: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/cant-find-the-registry-keys-to-re-enable/dd52cc80-c60b-484b-9a4d-dfc08e6b3eb4 . I am still getting the error message that Silverlight is blocked. Does any one have any idea what I can do?

Hi David,

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community, I'm glad to offer help.

According to your description, I tested on a brand new VM with the current latest version of Microsoft 365 (Current Channel) and tried to follow the official articles below to enable Silverlight and Power View, including adding the required registry keys, enabling the required add-ins and install Microsoft Silverlight, but I still cannot get it to work.

Reference:

-      Turn on Power View in Excel for Windows - Excel

-      Flash, Silverlight, and Shockwave controls blocked in Microsoft Office

-      Get Silverlight | Microsoft Silverlight

In this case, I’d like to suggest you send feedback within Excel to report the problem, and the relevant team may respond to you directly and let you know any further information: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office? - Office Support

If you don’t get a response from the Office team, you can contact your IT department to raise a support ticket to escalate the problem for further investigation and assistance: How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office? - Office Support

Meanwhile, we’d like to suggest you use the free Power BI Desktop app to continue your work, as Power View is a part of Power BI.

Sorry for the inconvenience to your work and I hope the above information can help you a little.

Best Regards,

Arck
