Hi!

I have a question regarding synchronizing fies from USB drive and OneDrive. Usally i am working on documents while "offline". After i get home and get "online" i want the files i edited to "update"/synchronize with OneDrive. The problem is that i cannot figure out the settings where OneDrive would automatically synchronize/update edited files. Is this kind of synchronization even posssible?

Thanks for the answers,

Tadej

You can open a OneDrive file to work on it while offline. When you reconnect to the internet it should sync up.

I suggest you work on the file while it is in your OneDrive folder. Don't remove the file from OneDrive and then work on it.

Files on your USB drive are not OneDrive files unless your OneDrive folder is located there.

You can replace the old OneDrive files with the newly updated files. This is especially easy if they have the same name.

    Hi TadejKofjač,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you have a concern on syncing from USB files to OneDrive.

All data in OneDrive is stored in the cloud, so its synchronization requires a network. The files you edit while offline cannot be synchronized to OneDrive, even if the automatic synchronization function is turned on. Therefore, you need to stay online when connected to the USB, and set the synchronization path of OneDrive to USB to realize the synchronization of files in the USB.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Best Regards,

You can't have your OneDrive folder on a drive that you might eject or unplug. So if this is a laptop that you want to keep portable you should not have your OneDrive folder on an external drive.

I suggest you keep your OneDrive folder on the internal drive and use the OneDrive Files On-Demand to keep your computer from filling up with unnecessary OneDrive files.

Open the files you want to work with while online. They will download to your device to work with while offline.

Can i have multile OneDrive folders. Like one on USB and one on computer?

No, not on the same account. You can have two OneDrive folders if one is OneDrive Personal and the other is OneDrive for Business.

Thank for the answer. So its better then to have USB drive set as OneDrive folder and all the files will also remain in the cloud and sync when i get back on line?
