Microsoft OneDrive Cloud Storage

I inadvertently sent an Excel file from my Mac to OneDrive and when I logged in into review it was missing? I did receive a email from OneDrive.com stating that they received the file, it was safe, and I could review it by logging into the account. My Excel version is a older version, but I was prompted by Onedrive to save to that Cloud system. Why can't a Microsoft Tech. or myself find that file?

    Hi WhiskeyTomLO,

Thank you for the reply and I am writing to follow up on this thread.

For a better understanding of your situation, could you please share a screenshot on the email from OneDrive.com?

Moreover, according to my test, the file saved in OneDrive should also be listed in the Excel Recent list. And you may find the file and check the full file path. And it should indicate the storage location.

Thank you for your understanding and efforts.

    Best Regards,

    May

Thanks May for responding to my question!

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I had a busy schedule today.

I checked the Excels "Recent's List" and fortunately I had saved a copy to a personal flash drive as well. Unfortunately, there is no "saved to" trail to OneDrive account I forwarded it to prior to saving on my flash drive.

But thanks again for your input.

    Good morning Alex

Thanks for responding. I utilized an Excel spreadsheet that I generated from an Excel software that I purchased. It is a 2016 Microsoft Excel for Mac, Version 15.29.1. The prompt to save to the cloud was generated by the Excel package itself after I selected save. I didn't move the file to the One Drive sync folder. Excel package on my computer has no log on requirements because it stored on my iMac. I log into the iMac and then have access to the Excel software. The file I sent was a .XLS file. I'm not sure I know what you mean "Also, you may check the OneDrive in the browser. Search for ".xlsx" and set Date correspondingly to smaller the search result:" do you mean check it at the OneDrive site, or in the Excel package when its open? And do I have that capability with the version of Excel that I have?

Thanks again for help and insight!

    Hi Whiskey,

May I confirm if you directly save the file to OneDrive in the Excel app or you move the file to the OneDrive sync folder?

If it's directly saved from Excel app, please make sure you have login OneDrive with the same account you login Excel.

Also, you may check the OneDrive in the browser. Search for ".xlsx" and set Date correspondingly to smaller the search result:

If you still can not find the file, please check if the file is in the OneDrive recycle bin.

    Regards,

    Alex Chen
