I have downloaded Microsoft Money (UK Version) 14.0.120.1105 2004 version. This opens my *.mny files.

I have a *MN3 file I need to open but cant open or restore it using the above software. I think this is a backup file and Version 3 of Microsoft Money.

Any help on where I can down the software to open this file or how to restore the back up would be greatly appreciated.

Tim, the data file isn't opening because the app is discontinued and has stopped working for almost everyone. It's a miracle you got it to run at all. It stopped running for most people years ago.

Did you install it in Compatibility mode? The best chance it will work fully is if you can install it in Compatibility Mode following this guide:

Really appreciate you replying Greg. Thankyou.

I have got Microsoft Money running on my Windows 10 PC using the version I mentioned above. I just have one important MN3 file that will not work / open.

Any further suggestions on how I can access and view the data in the MN3 file would be appreciated.

Hi Tim. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

Unfortunately Microsoft Money has been discontinued for many years and is no longer able to be run in Windows 10 for most. For awhile we were able to get it to run using this method: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/use-microsoft-mo... but this is no longer reported to work - though you can try it.

Besides the free MSN Money app in the Microsoft Store app there are good alternatives that many have moved on to here:

If you want to express your opinion on this to Microsoft use the Feedback Hub app in Start Menu where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They will not even see it here. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others with your problems.

If you want to post back a Share link from your Feedback here others who see this thread can vote it up and add to it, to build momentum. I'll also track the issue for you.

I hope this helps. Based on what you report back I can answer any questions and may have other steps to perform. If you'll wait to rate whether my post was helpful, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
