When working out of office , or without access to default networked printer, excel files are unresponsive. Is there a fix/patch for that problem ? How to solve this inconvenience ?

Since, you mentioned this issue occurred with different pc machines with different Excel builds version.

After search a lot, I found out that some users with similar issue if disable the following Add-ins in Excel: Analysis ToolPak, Analysis ToolPak - VBA, Solver Add-in then the problem goes away. You may also try and see this tick work for you.

Also. if you don't mind(I request please don't mind ) try to uninstalled your previous default printer and removed the driver through Print Management, then reinstalled it and check the outcomes.

    Hi Waqas Muhammad

    Thanks for response.

During problematic moment , excel window stop responding , need to kill that process to recover.

Problem occurs on different pc machines with different builds so it looks it is not build related.

Repair installation not solve, problem either.

Looks like excell trying to use default printer even if it is not available at the moment.

Only override of a problem is temporary switching to a e.g. PDF Creator as a default printer - but this is not a solution.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi GrzegorzBK,

First, my pleasure to assist you.

As per your description, please don’t worry, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation.

It seems Microsoft Excel 365 are unresponsive without access to default networked printer in your machine environment. May I know if my understanding is correct? if so, may I know does issue happened do specific Excel document file?  If the issue happens to all Excel files including a new created one, the issue is more related to the Office app itself or your computer environment. You can first try suggestions below to see the result:

    1. Make sure you’ve updated Office to the latest version that some issues can be resolved with such method.
    2. Try open your Excel insafe mode which allow you to safely use it when it has encountered certain problems
    3. If still can’t work, please try torepair an Office application to fix the problem.

In the meantime, to confirm whether this is a bug in a specific version, please provide us the version information. To check version: Open any Office e.g., Excel >File>Account>Product Information and capture a full screenshot and share here (Please mask your private message for protecting your private message) and we will be tested on that version and verify the result with you.

Also, whether other applications also have the same problem? Such as PowerPoint or Word and etc.

I appreciate your understanding and stay safe!!

    Best Regards

    Waqas Muhammad
