importing Evernote notes to OneNote doesn't work

Question

I have Evernote installed on my computer (running Windows 10 Enterprise), logged in Evernote, notes synced; I run the OneNote Importer and under 'Select Evernote content', I get this error message:

so I select an exported Evernote file (.enex), click Next, Sign in with work account, click Import and get this error message:

any ideas why this is not working?

here's an alternative:

download and install Evernote legacy: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052560314-Install-an-older-version-of-Evernote

use Evernote2Onenote: https://tools.stefankueng.com/Evernote2Onenote.html when you run it, you might get this error message:

just locate ENScript.exe, it'll probably be in a folder such as C:\Program Files (x86)\Evernote\Evernote Legacy

it will identify your notebooks, you can then pick which notebook to import (doesn't look like you can import all notebooks in one go) and click 'Start Import'

the notebook will then show up in OneNote:

if they're tags in your Evernote notes, new section will be created for each tab and notes with that tags will be placed in that section (otherwise they'll go under the section 'not specified'.

haha yeah that explains everything... so bottom line is that the importer is completely useless hehe
