Version History is missing

I've been working on a word document saved in OneDrive for the last two days. This evening, my computer restarted itself (I'm not sure if it was an update or a crash as I wasn't there at the time) and when I went to recover the document, all recent versions are completely missing. I tried restoring my computer, checking all version histories, searching recent files, there is absolutely no sign of the most recent version.

The last saved version was 23rd Feb - when I was autosaving on 24th feb. I am missing 2000 words - is there any hope of recovering this??

    Hello CarolineNess,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

Did you restore your system before checking for the version history?

The data can also be lost if the file was saving locally and has not yet synced before the system restarted/crashed.

If you were using Microsoft word application in your desktop try the recovery method for the same here : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/trouble...

    Hi Jaspreet,

No, I looked for version history before. The most recent version is listed as the time I turned my computer back on - there is nothing before that, not even when the document was first created and saved. I have done all of those methods, unfortunately none worked.
