I have a an old mail merge Word document that has been moved to a new computer and a changed drive. My problem is I don't know the name of the Excel data source. Is there any way to see what file the Word merge is looking for? Actually using Word 2019.

If you have some idea of the content of the Excel file, you could search your Excel documents (using File Explorer) for some text snippet that would appear in it.

If the document was saved with the data source attached to it, when you open the document and click on Yes in the SQL warning message that appears, if the data source is no longer accessible, you should see an error message that contains the name of the original data source

If the SQL warning message does not appear, you are out of luck.
