Copying Hidden Cells

I have templates set up in Excel that require copying and pasting from one tab to another. In these documents there are hidden cells, both tabs of the template have the same columns hidden. It used to be that excel would copy and paste all cells including the hidden ones, making the columns match up. Recently something changed with excel and for about half of the users of the templates, it is only copying visible cells, so when it is pasted onto the other tab, it doesn't line up. This is a new issue and since it isn't the same for everyone across the board I'm not sure how to set up my templates.

    Hi AnneMarie GR,

As per your description, In Excel 365 By default, Excel copies hidden or filtered cells in addition to visible cells, since you mentioned recently when you try to copy/past cell its only copying visible cells.

    Please try below:

For example, the source worksheet "Sheet1" and the destination "Sheet2". In Sheet2, click in cell A2 and type this into the formula bar: =Sheet1!A3 Now click the bottom right corner of cell A2 and drag it with the range highlighted, press ctrl C to copy, then right click to paste special values.

May I know does issue happened do specific Excel file template?  If the issue happens to all Excel files including a new created one, the issue is more related to the Office app itself or your computer environment. You can first try suggestions below to see the result:

    1. Make sure you’ve updated Office to the latest version that some issues can be resolved with such method.
    2. Try open your Excel insafe mode which allow you to safely use it when it has encountered certain problems
    3. If still can’t work, please try torepair an Office application to fix the problem.

Meanwhile, if you don’t mind and if it is convenient for you, could you please send me a copy of the document file to me so that I can look from my side, and I will check this behavior and verify the result with you.

If there is confidential information, then you can send it to me in Private Message

In the meantime, to confirm whether this is a bug in a specific version, please provide us the version information. To check version: Open any Office e.g., Excel>File>Account>Product Information and capture a full screenshot and share here (Please mask your private message for protecting your private message) and we will be tested on that version and verify the result with you.

I appreciate your understanding and stay safe!!

    Best Regards

    Waqas Muhammad
